Mental Health First Aid for Adults
Learn to assist an adult experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. Community members will learn to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental challenges.
This is a two part course that includes a self-paced online course and an instructor-led virtual class via Zoom. The online course takes approximately 2 hours to complete and MUST be completed at least 48 hours before the instructor-led virtual class. Those who have not completed by 48 hours will be automatically withdrawn from the class. Two weeks before the virtual class, an email will be sent with a link and more information.
Half an hour is allowed for a lunch break.
This course is recommended for residents of Maryland and is free to community members taking the course for their own knowledge. The cost to businesses and organizations sending staff is $25 per person.
The name that you use to register is the name that will appear on your certificate.

IT requirements: For the best experience, join course from a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer. If computer does not have a microphone you can use the dial-in option. This is a participatory course so you will also need a webcam, either built-in or external.
Includes a digital manual and a Participant Processing Guide. Please print the Participant Processing Guide or download it to your desktop as it will be our workbook throughout class.
Anyone who cancels less than 72 hours before a class cannot be rescheduled to a future class but will be added a waiting list.
