Mental Health First Aid
Learn to assist an adult who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis.
This is a two part course that includes a 2-hour, self-paced online course and an instructor-led virtual class via Zoom. The online course MUST be completed at least 48 hours before the instructor-led virtual class. Those who have not completed by 48 hours will be automatically withdrawn.
A zoom link will be sent to you 48 hours before the virtual class.
Half an hour is allowed for a lunch break.
This course is recommended for individuals who live or work in Howard County and are 18 years and older. The course is a $170 value but is being offered free to community members taking the course for their own knowledge. The cost to businesses and organizations sending staff is $25 per person. Payment must be made with a credit card at the time of registration.
You must arrive to class before 8:45 a.m. in order to be certified.

IT requirements: For the best experience, join course from a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer. If computer does not have a microphone you can use the dial-in option. This is a participatory course so you will also need a webcam, either built-in or external.
Includes a digital manual and a Participant Processing Guide. Please print the Participant Processing Guide or download it to your desktop as it will be our workbook throughout class.
Those who cancels less than 72 hours before a class cannot be rescheduled to a future class but will be added a waiting list.
