Learn about the benefits of breastfeeding, positions and latching on, signs your baby is getting enough milk, breastfeeding pumps, and the importance of partner support. This is a two-part course that includes an instructor-led class and an online course. In the instructor-led class, our lactation consultant will help mothers and their partners navigate the breastfeeding processing during the first 6 to 8 weeks after birth, and answer participants' breastfeeding questions and concerns. The Injoy online course is a comprehensive resource of information about breastfeeding and will be available to you for 9 months once you register.
In-Person and Virtual Format Options: As physical distancing guidelines change, the format of this class is also subject to change. Please make sure that you are registering for the format that you prefer--either virtually via Zoom or in-person at the Little Patuxent Specialty Center.
In-Person at the Little Patuxent Specialty Center:
1. Participants must wear a mask inside the building and throughout class. If you are not comfortable with a mask, please register for a virtual class.
2. Arrive 10 minutes before the start of class and proceed to the SIDE entrance where the instructor will greet you and let you in the building. If you arrive after the class start time, you will not have access into the building and must reschedule the class (1 time reschedule).
3. No food or drink are allowed in the classroom. If you need to take a break, you may drink or eat in the hallway outside the classroom.
4. Please do not leave the building until class ends. The door to the outside automatically locks and you will not be able to get back inside.
Online Course: Both virtual and in-person participants will have access to the online course. A personal access code will be sent in the confirmation email.
Zoom Link: The zoom link to classes will be included in the confirmation email. Your name as it appears in Zoom must be the same name you used to register for the class. Please arrive to the virtual class 5 minutes early to be checked in.
Nonrefundable: The $35 fee for the online class is nonrefundable for any reason even medical. The online class is available to you for 9 months from the time you register (even if you cancel the virtual class).
Registration and Cost is per couple. Only one name will appear on the confirmation email but the second person's name will appear on our roster. The cost listed is per couple. Register only once.
Insurance: Submitting reimbursement is between you and your insurance provider. Your email confirmation is your receipt and the only documentation that will be provided. Check with your insurance company before registering.
