Events / Babies and New Parents / Breastfeeding

Learn about the benefits of breastfeeding, positions and latching on, signs your baby is getting enough milk, breastfeeding pumps, and the importance of partner support. This two-part course includes an instructor-led class and an online course. In the instructor-led class, our lactation consultant will help mothers and their partners navigate the breastfeeding processing during the first 6 to 8 weeks after birth, and answer participants' breastfeeding questions and concerns. The Injoy online course is a resource that will be available to you for 9 months once you register.

In-Person and Virtual Format Options: The in-person and virtual class are identical, just in a different format. As physical distancing guidelines change, the format of this class is also subject to change

In-Person at the Little Patuxent Specialty Center:

1. Participants must wear a mask inside the building and throughout class. If you are not comfortable with a mask, please register for a virtual class.

2. Arrive 10 minutes before the start of class and proceed to the SIDE entrance where the instructor will greet you and let you in the building. If you arrive after the class start time, you will not have access into the building and must reschedule the class (1 time reschedule).

3. No food or drink are allowed in the classroom. If you need to take a break, you may drink or eat in the hallway outside the classroom.

4. Please do not leave the building until class ends. The door to the outside automatically locks and you will not be able to get back inside.
